Grihpravesh is considered auspicious when the Sun is in Uttarayana (from Capricorn to Gemini) and lunar months of Magha, Phalguna, Vaishakha, and Iyestha are prevailing. Avoid the times when Jupiter and Venus are combust, Jupiter in Leo and Capricorn, and Sun in Pisces.

Before entering a new house proper Vastu puja and home should be performed in auspicious nakshatras like three Uttras, Rohini, Mrigshira, Revati, Chitra, and Anuradha. Proper religious ceremonies should be performed before entering a new house.

2/3/5/6/7/8/1O/11/12/13/15 tithis are considered good. All days except Tuesday and Sunday are favorable. Avoid Bhadra.

Lagna of fixed or dual signs or Lagna of rashis falling in 3/ 6/ 10/ 11th houses from natal Moon sign is considered auspicious. Lagna Rashi should not be the 8th Rashi from the natal Moon or natal Lagna. The natal Lagna lord, nakshatra lord, and Dasa lord should be strong at the time of Grah Pravesh.
